By accessing or using GeoBarta ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service
GeoBarta is a news briefing platform that aggregates, summarizes, and organizes news content from various sources. We provide personalized news summaries organized by geographic relevance (Global, Regional, National, and Local levels).
Our Service uses automated technology to summarize news articles. While we strive for accuracy, summaries are generated by AI and may contain errors or omissions. We recommend reading the original source articles for complete information.
2.1 Subscription Plans
GeoBarta offers a Pro subscription plan that provides additional features including unlimited briefings, all geographic levels, multiple languages, and an ad-free experience. Subscription pricing and features are displayed on our website and may be updated from time to time.
3. User Obligations
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
- Not use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
- Not interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Not use the Service to transmit harmful code or malicious software
- Respect intellectual property rights of content providers
4. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by GeoBarta and protected by intellectual property laws. News summaries are generated by our technology, but original articles remain the property of their respective publishers.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our express written permission.
5. Content and Third-Party Sources
GeoBarta aggregates content from third-party news sources. We do not claim ownership of original news articles. All summaries link back to original sources, and we encourage users to read the full articles on the original publishers' websites.
We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or opinions expressed in third-party content. The inclusion of any news source does not imply endorsement by GeoBarta.
5.1 Third-Party Services
Our Service integrates with the following third-party services. By using these features, you agree to be bound by their respective terms:
- Clerk (Authentication): We use Clerk for user authentication and account management. Your use of authentication features is subject to Clerk's Terms of Service (https://clerk.com/legal/terms) and Privacy Policy (https://clerk.com/legal/privacy).
- LemonSqueezy (Payments): We use LemonSqueezy to process subscription payments. Your purchase and payment transactions are subject to LemonSqueezy's Terms of Service (https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/terms) and Privacy Policy (https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy). LemonSqueezy acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.
- Amplitude (Analytics): We use Amplitude for analytics to improve our Service. Usage data is processed according to Amplitude's privacy practices.
6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Service Provided "As Is": The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the Service.
No Warranty: We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeoBarta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
7.1 Billing
GeoBarta Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) through our payment processor, LemonSqueezy. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
7.2 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods.
7.3 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Any price changes will be communicated in advance and will apply to the next billing cycle after the change takes effect.
7.4 Refunds
Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at hello@geobarta.com if you believe you are entitled to a refund. Refunds, if approved, will be processed through LemonSqueezy.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.
